Grab your sunscreen, swim goggles and swim caps as the Eagle Pool opens for the summer Friday, May 29, during the Splash Back to Summer School’s Out Bash.

The free event will feature an awards celebration for the 2026 Colorado Lottery Starburst Award at 4 p.m., followed by the unveiling of Mountain Recreation’s new mascot. Free swimming will be available from approximately 4:30 to 7 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pool and punch passes are currently on sale and may be purchased in person from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink. Passes will also be available throughout the summer season.

New this summer, the pool will offer extended hours, expanded swim lessons, swim team programming, Master’s Swim, Wibit Wednesdays and additional adult lap swimming opportunities. Planned events include the Splish Splash Olympics, Chapuzon Latino Swim Night and swim meets.

Adult lap swim will be offered Monday through Thursday from 6 to 11 a.m., with one lane available for free swim. Master’s swimming, swim lessons, and swim team practices also will take place Monday through Friday, beginning at 6 a.m.

Public swim hours are:

  • Noon to 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday
  • Noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday
  • 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday

After a day at the pool, guests can also enjoy drop-in inline roller hockey or roller skating with music on the indoor sport court. Participants should bring their own equipment, as skate rentals will not be available during the summer season.

Drop-in inline hockey and skate nights begin June 1. Inline hockey will take place on Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m., while roller and inline skate nights will be held on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.

“I’m excited to welcome everyone back to the pool,” Eagle Pool and Ice Rink Supervisor Sheryl Staten said. “There’s nothing better than the laughter and joy that comes with summer. A little sunshine, some splashing and a few rides down the slide are good for the soul. Put the phones away for a while and come reconnect with each other at the pool.”

The pool will also continue offering ice cream, nachos, Dippin’ Dots and healthy snacks at the Snack Shack. Eagle Pool is available for birthday parties and family gatherings. Reservations include a shaded area, tables and chairs, and guests may bring food and nonalcoholic beverages.

Parties and gatherings must be reserved in advance by calling 970-328-5277.
