The Gypsum Rec Center offers a variety of fitness classes for people of all ages and abilities. Class schedules are released on a monthly basis. Don’t forget, fitness classes are now included with your membership! Non-members cost is $10 per class.

Aqua Zumba brings new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. It combines the South American Zumba rhythm and dance steps with a pool party. It offers a fun but challenging, water-based, body-toning workout. So, liven up your working week with some Latin fever.

Class instructor, Chanelle, will create a fun environment where you are sure to feel your stress and anxiety melt away as she takes you and your little one through the poses and techniques needed to strengthen, support and find your breath together. Traditional yoga class etiquette will be forgotten at the door. There is no expectation for your baby to “behave” in any certain way. If needed, feel free to take care of your baby’s immediate needs and rejoin class when you are ready. This is your time and we are honored to create space for you and baby.

- New! Resonate Yoga & Sound Bath Yoga With Kimber & Chanelle
Students who attend this class will be bathed in sound waves that transport them into deeply restorative and meditative states as they practice a gentle yoga flow
and recline into a blissful state of mind. Kimber and Chanelle will co-create a space bringing a gentle and loving yoga practice, sounds of the gong, crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, drums, chimes, rain sticks and singing, to the ear’s hearts and bodies of all attending. You will get to enjoy the expansion of light therapy within the space. Students will also experience the integrating of hands on Reiki touch healing during the session, along with many different foundations of healing breath work, mantras and mudras. Each class will offer something so healing for your mind body and soul, leaving you feeling as if you’ve just had a complete spa for the body. Modifications will always be shown, and lovingly encouraged. No prior yoga experience necessary. Each class will be gentle, bring simplicity for your soul. Zumba® combines Latin and International music with a fun and effective workout system which involves dance and aerobic elements. Zumba’s choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo and martial arts.

Active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba® class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity. Class focuses on all elements of fitness: cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, flexibility and balance!

This is a high intensity, fast paced class that is low impact. It is great for athletes that are recovering from surgery, pregnant woman, or anybody looking to go easy on their joints.
Born in the Navy SEALs, TRX Suspension Training Bodyweight Exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability simultaneously. It requires the use of the TRX Suspension Trainer, a highly portable performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user’s body weight to complete 100’s of exercises.
- Beginning Tai Chi / Intro to Soft Movement
A practice of honoring yourself, your body and what it needs. We explore balance, comfort, agility, ease, efficiency, and movement that is natural and optimal. This class is both restorative and stimulating. We explore body alignment and keeping centered in stillness and in motion. This is a martial art as well as a self-care practice; both calming & powerful. The intent is to nourish and nurture the body, mind, and spirit. Students will learn to move using energy and breath, not only with muscles & strength. This is a practice of longevity. All levels welcome. Yang Style Tai Chi.

Refresh your workout routine! We will dig deep to push ourselves mentally and physically. There is always a modification for every exercise we do. This class features fun, strength-based cardio no matter where you are on your exercise journey!
- Foam Roll & Release
In this 45-minute class you will use foam rollers & tennis/lacrosse balls to perform a self-massage or myofascial release. Your muscles and tendons will feel stretched, you will break up trigger points, soothe tight fascia and increase blood flow and circulation. You will also improve your balance and stability, strengthen your core muscles and total body function as you move and stabilize on the roller.
