Rock Climbing
The Gypsum Recreation Center and Edwards Field House are home to indoor rock climbing! Both facilities feature a large climbing wall and separate bouldering wall. After completing a Mountain Recreation belay certification, both climbing walls are available to guests during normal facility operating hours. Standard facility admission fees apply, or are included with your membership.
Outdoor rock climbing programs are weather and season dependent.

- Free Autobelay Check-Off (ABC) ONLY 5:30-6 p.m. | Edwards
*You must register by 4pm the day of the clinic – no drop-ins.*This is important for our planning purposes.
Attend this free 30-minute clinic to learn how to safely and confidently use basic climbing equipment, follow auto-belay safety protocols, and clip into the auto-belays correctly. After attending, you’ll be able to use the auto-belay system during our facility’s operating hours
Requirements:
- Ages 8-13 year-olds requires parent supervision whenever child is using Auto-Belay & for the parent to pass Auto-Belay test as well
- Ages 14+ can take the test and use without adult supervision

Join Mountain Recreation for Community Climbing Night, an opportunity for climbers of all experience levels to enjoy the wall in a fun and welcoming environment. Participants can register to climb independently or be belayed, making it easy to build skills, stay active, and connect with fellow climbers.
Ages 8-13yo must be accompanied by an adult and 14+ can come alone.

Our fully renovated climbing walls feature routes ranging from 13’2″ to 32′ in height. The facility includes 13 top rope routes, two auto belay routes and a fully functional bouldering wall, offering three distinct climbing areas designed for everyone from first-time climbers to seasoned enthusiasts.
