Basics of Outdoor Rock Climbing
Session One: June 23-25 (Gypsum)
Session Two: July 21-23 (Edwards)This 3-day camp is geared for young climbers who already have some climbing experience and are looking to advance their skills. This camp will review and reinforce standard rock climbing techniques such as knots, belaying, and the correct way to move over rock. We will then teach advanced skills such as rappelling, climber rescues, and more depending on the group. After a day of review and skills practice at one of the Mountain Recreation indoor climbing walls, youth will put their skills to the test outside on real rock for the last two days of camp.

In this 1-day Backyard Adventure Mini Session, campers will learn survival skills and practice their new skills in a fun, safe, and exciting setting from experienced guides. Activities are dependent on conditions and may include map & compass orienteering, fire building, constructing shelters, tying knots, and identifying flora and fauna.

Eagle County BMX Race Camp
Session One: June 8-11
Session Two: July 13-16
This camp, hosted by Eagle County BMX, is a week-long (Monday-Thursday) camp that will cover the basics of BMX racing. Participants will learn basic bike maintenance, one foot starts, gate starts, straight-a-ways, rhythm sections and jumping techniques. First time, beginner, and intermediate riders welcome. Participants must wear long sleeved pants and shirts and wear a full face helmet. Helmets and bikes are available for renting during camp on a limited basis – first come, first serve. Please bring a bike from home if you have one – bikes must be functional (brakes in working condition, no flats, etc.) and have no pegs or kickstands for safety concerns. Mountain bikes are not ideal for this camp. BMX bikes and dirt jumpers are excellent.

Girls Mountain Bike Camp (Older Kiddos)

It’s no fun being the only girl in camp…which is why we’re offering an ALL-GIRLS Mountain Bike camp to create an encouraging, fun, and safe affinity space for girls looking to learn and support each other in their riding together. Over 4 half-days, female campers will learn safe riding techniques, basic trail etiquette, and how to take care of their bike while they ride with their group on singletrack and dirt pathways around Eagle. Try it out and gain comfort with riding to feel more confident registering for our general Mountain Rec Mountain Bike Camps throughout the summer. Tutus and glitter are welcome here if that’s your thing! Please provide your own bike or we have a small number of bikes to rent out for the week on a first come, first served basis.

Pewee Pedalers Beginner Mountain Bike Camp
Session One: June 19

Session Three: July 24For little riders who already love to pedal! Peewee Pedalers will learn foundational mountain bike skills through fun, guided riding on the pump track, bike park features, and the Haymaker trail system. Instructors focus on balance, braking, body position, and trail awareness while keeping things playful and encouraging. Riders must be able to pedal independently—no training wheels or pedal-less bikes. Perfect for kids who love riding and are excited to explore mountain biking in a safe, supportive environment.

Mountain Recreation invites seasoned young riders (9-14) to come out and ride with friends new and old, while learning about the awesome trails in our backyard. This camp is for older kids who take their riding to the next level. Please register your child for the “Beginner-Intermediate Mountain Biking Camp” if they have minimal bike experience. Participants will ride popular trails in the Eagle area, while learning concepts of trail stewardship, riding techniques, and what it means to be a part of the mountain bike community. Campers should be comfortable riding singletrack and without significant fatigue after 5-10 miles. Please provide your own bike or we have a small number of bikes to rent out for the week on a first come, first served basis.

Older Kids Advanced Mountain Bike Camp
Session One: August 3-6 (Half-Day)
This is not an intermediate-level camp. Please consider your child’s skill level and register for the appropriate level of Mountain Bike Camp. This is important for group flow and safety.
This camp is for confident riders ready to take their mountain biking to the next level. Participants will refine advanced skills such as cornering, technical climbing and descending, line choice, drops, and jumps through focused instruction and lots of trail time. Riders will explore challenging terrain on local trails, pump tracks, and bike park features while building speed, control, and trail awareness. Designed for experienced mountain bikers who are comfortable riding on singletrack and varied terrain, this camp emphasizes progression, safety, and fun in a supportive, high-energy environment.

Mountain Rec and Duchess Ride have teamed up to offer this amazing ALL GIRLS! skate camp. All ability levels welcome. On this 3-day adventure, students will begin learning backcountry camping and travel skills while enjoying the rewards of day hiking. In this course, young explorers will learn the skills they need to navigate terrain, set up camp, cook outdoors, sleep safely, and find comfort in the outdoors, all while making new friends. Camping and backpacking equipment is provided or you are welcome to bring your own gear!
