From afterschool opportunities and single-day activities at Camp Hale to overnight wilderness trips in the White River National Forest, your child will develop an appreciation for our very own backyard as they learn to navigate and conquer the great outdoors. Each camp is designed to help build necessary skills and knowledge of the outdoors for kids to safely and properly recreate on their own.

Backyard Adventure Camp
Session Nine: August 10-13 (Gypsum) – Full
We’re excited to offer multi-adventure day camps for younger kiddos to explore our own backyard. Participants will be exposed to a variety of activities that may include hiking, indoor rock climbing, art in nature, swimming, and more. Activities vary per week and are dependent on weather and conditions.

Friday Fun Day: SUP Day
Session Two: August 7
In this 1-day BYA Mini Session, campers will learn the ins and outs of SUP set-up, water safety, and get the day to play on the water in the sun. We’ll take breaks throughout the day for lunch, games, and activities.

Youngsters Intermediate Mountain Bike Camp
Session One: August 10-13 (Full-Day) – Full
Please consider your child’s skill level and register for the appropriate level of Mountain Bike Camp. This is important for group flow and safety.
This Beginner-Intermediate Full-Days Camp is for youngsters who are newer to riding bikes and want to learn more! Participants will spend the mornings learning safe riding techniques, basic trail etiquette, and how to take care of their bike while they ride with their group on singletrack and dirt pathways around Eagle. Afternoons will be spent in a variety of fun activities such as swimming, rock climbing, nature crafts, group games, and more. Concepts of trail stewardship, nature appreciation, and what it means to be part of the mountain bike community will be explored during each session. Campers should be able to ride their bike confidently and without significant fatigue after 1-3 miles. Please provide your own bike or we have a small number of bikes to rent out for the week on a first come, first served basis.

Hey young shredders! Checkout Mountain Recreation Skateboard Camp and learn how to use your skateboard and maybe a new trick or two. Our incredible skateboard director, Tawnya Godinez, is one of the most renowned coaches in the valley and has been coaching camps for over a decade with Mountain Rec. Helmets and pads are required for beginner level skaters and highly recommended for all levels.

Intro to Camping
Session Four: August 11-13 – Full
This is a multi-day overnight camp! Find out what all the excitement is about! On this 3-day adventure, students will begin learning backcountry camping and travel skills while enjoying the rewards of day hiking. In this course, young explorers will learn the skills they need to navigate terrain, set up camp, cook outdoors, sleep safely, and find comfort in the outdoors, all while making new friends. Camping and backpacking equipment is provided or you are welcome to bring your own gear!
