GYPSUM— Mountain Recreation Metropolitan District is asking registered voters within the District to send in statements for and against the proposed tax increase that will be on the May 3rd ballot.

The ballot question will ask voters to approve an increase in the district’s property tax mill rate to fund the District’s All Access Rec program including:

  • Community centers for all. Mountain Rec will complete major renovations at all three facilities to create versatile spaces that serve all ages and improve community health
  • More space and more availability. This will allow for year-round access to new community spaces and programs to overcome capacity challenges and serve all ages.

The District’s Designated Election Official will summarize the comments and send them to voters before the election, as required by law. Comments can be dropped off or mailed to the Marchetti and Weaver offices at 28 Second St. Suite 213 Edwards, CO 81632 ATTN: Cheri Curtis or emailed to Cheri Curtis at cheri@mwcpaa.com. The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 18, 2022 by noon (MST).

All submitted statements must contain the name, address, and signature of the author.
