Eagle Pool Initial Design Concept to be Shared at December 7th Open House

JOINT PRESS RELEASE FROM TOWN OF EAGLE AND MOUNTAIN RECREATION 

Eagle, CO – District residents have something to look forward to with great anticipation, as the initial design concept for the Eagle Pool Replacement Project will be up on display at a community open house on Thursday, December 7th from 4:00pm to 6:30pm at the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink. 

Thanks to community feedback, the Town and Mountain Rec have been working with OLC Designs to conceptualize initial designs for an Eagle Pool that delivers on community and programmatic needs and most importantly, is built to last. 

“We’ve listened to our community, and we are as eager to get the pool open as quickly as possible,” said Melissa Daruna, Town of Eagle Assistant Town Manager. “To do so, there are a few things the Town and Mountain Rec have to accomplish and would like to be upfront about – we have to be practical with our limited budget and timeline constraints, and we must get the geotechnical work done correctly, so this doesn’t happen again.” 

To deliver the Eagle Pool by the target date of spring of 2025 and do so within the budget, the Town and Mountain Rec will be replacing the pool in the same location and the pool will remain a seasonal outdoor pool.  

Although the budget and location of the pool is set, the Town and Mountain Rec invite everyone to attend the open house hours to see the vision, design, and scope of the project, as well as help the project team prioritize site amenities that meet the community’s needs and desires.  

The top priority is replacing the pool. As the team considers any additional restroom or changing room areas that may be required for the new pool size and layout, they are also evaluating opportunities to improve these amenities for multiple uses, year-round in the facility.  

The feedback session will serve as an excellent opportunity for District residents to engage in productive dialogue with representatives from the Town, Mountain Rec, and the design firm.
