Edwards Field House Renovations Begin Aug. 18

Mountain Recreation District (Mountain Rec) will begin a renovation project at the Edwards Field House on Monday, Aug. 18. The $1.2 million project encompasses a range of upgrades designed to enhance the experience and expand program offerings for the public.
Renovations will include reconfiguration of the gymnastics area, installation of new gymnastics equipment, repurposed trampolines, new ninja course features, upgrades to the Rec Kids Day Camp room, new office space for staff and new maple hardwood sport court flooring to accommodate three basketball, three volleyball and three pickleball courts with a divider curtain. A new climbing wall is scheduled to be installed in early 2026.
Construction is scheduled to be completed on Oct. 31, except for the climbing wall.
During the renovation, the basketball court and climbing area will be closed to the public. The turf field court and Ascent Gymnastics Team practices will operate as scheduled with adjustments made to ensure participant safety, including closures as needed. The facility will experience increased noise during the construction period.
Memberships will be extended by three months during the construction, as most areas will be closed to memberships.
“These upgrades will help us offer more court time for basketball, volleyball and pickleball, while providing a better overall experience for everyone who uses the Field House,” said Brad Johnson, Edwards Field House supervisor. “We’ve listened and heard what our members and guests want to see improved, including climbing walls, trampoline and ninja course features.”
This project marks the first phase of an ongoing renovation plan for the Edwards Field House. Future improvements under consideration include a new fitness area with cardio and strength equipment and expanded office space for Mountain Rec staff.
