GYPSUM RECREATION CENTER
Life Line Screening, a leading provider of community-based preventive health screenings will be performing ultrasound screenings to identify risk factors for Cardiovascular disease.
Register for a Wellness Package which includes the 4 vascular tests and osteoporosis screening from $149 ($139 with our member discount). All five screenings take 60-90 minutes to complete.

Gypsum Rec Center Fitness Class Descriptions
- Yoga / Gentle Yoga
Good for the mind, body and soul, this stress-reliever will help you gain improved body awareness and flexibility through the yoga tradition. Take the class to tone your muscles or as a compliment to your normal exercise routine.
- Water Aerobics
Exercising in the water is a challenging, yet fun workout that is easy on the joints! Come and let use the resistance of the water and power to your cardio workout!
- Fit after 50
Join fellow baby boomers in this class that focuses on a fun, invigorating workout that will help you maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
- Zumba
Zumba® combines Latin and International music with a fun and effective workout system which involves dance and aerobic elements. Zumba’s choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo and martial arts.
- Zumba Gold
Active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba® class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity. Class focuses on all elements of fitness: cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, flexibility and balance!
- Heart Smart
This class, featuring light cardio and chair exercises, is designed specifically for seniors.
- Beginning Tai Chi / Intro to Soft Movement
A practice of honoring yourself, your body and what it needs. We explore balance, comfort, agility, ease, efficiency, and movement that is natural and optimal. This class is both restorative and stimulating. We explore body alignment and keeping centered in stillness and in motion. This is a martial art as well as a self-care practice; both calming & powerful. The intent is to nourish and nurture the body, mind, and spirit. Students will learn to move using energy and breath, not only with muscles & strength. This is a practice of longevity. All levels welcome. Yang Style Tai Chi.
- Form Practice Tai Chi
This 30-minute class gives you a chance to tighten up your form.
- Foam Roll and Release
In this 45-minute class you will use foam rollers & tennis/lacrosse balls to perform a self-massage or myofascial release. Your muscles and tendons will feel stretched, you will break up trigger points, soothe tight fascia and increase blood flow and circulation. You will also improve your balance and stability, strengthen your core muscles and total body function as you move and stabilize on the roller.
