The Mountain Recreation Board is moving closer to selecting a new executive director, after it received thirty-four applications to fill the position. The position has been vacant since April, after the previous Executive Director Janet Bartnik accepted a position in Virginia.

The Mountain Rec Board met on Friday, June 2 to interview semi-finalists, and selected two finalists that will move on to the final round of interviews on Friday, June 9th.

Ture Nycum
Nycum has been the Parks and Recreation Director for the city of Durango, Colorado since 2021. Prior to joining the City of Durango, Nycum was the Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Fruita, Colorado, from 2006 to 2021 and was a Recreation Supervisor for the City of Louisville, Colorado from 1999 to 2006. Nycum holds a Master of Science in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Northern Colorado and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Scott C Robinson
Robinson has been with Mountain Recreation since 2018 and serves as the Superintendent of Business Operations. Prior to joining Mountain Rec, Robinson was the Marketing & Communications Director at Walking Mountains Science Center in Avon, Colorado from 2014 to 2018 and was the Marketing & Strategic Partnership Rep. for Can Do Multiple Sclerosis in Avon, Colorado from 2012 to 2014. Robinson holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
