When Eagle County Schools are out, we are in! School’s Out Camp offers a safe, nurturing environment that promotes self esteem, and provides youth opportunities to participate in a variety of developmentally positive lifelong leisure activities when Eagle County Schools are not in session.

Parents must fill out the state required forms annually. We must have completed forms before you can register your child. These are the same forms required for Rec Kids as well. State required forms here.

Cost: $40 Daily (Financial assistance is available, learn more here.)
Ages: 5-12
Locations: Edwards Field House, Gypsum Rec Center
Time: Drop Off – 7:30am – 9:00pm | Pick Up -4:00pm – 5:30pm

    Gymnastics Camp

    Leap, jump, tumble and roll your way to fun over Winter Break with our Gymnastics Camp! Please bring a sack lunch, snack, swim suit and towel and water each day. Sign up for all the dates or pick the ones that work for you.

    When: December 27th & 28, January 2nd-4th | 10am-3pm

    Pistol Pat Basketball Camp

    Pistol Pat basketball camp is designed for Elementary and Middle School boys and girls. If you are interested in improving your offensive basketball game, you cannot miss this camp! Pat has coached at the collegiate and professional levels as well.

    When: December  27-29 (9am—3 pm on December 27 & 28 & 9am-12pm on December 29)
    Where: Brush Creek Elementary School
    Ages: 6-14 years old

    BMHS Girls Basketball Camp

    Join Battle Mountain High School’s Women’s Head Coach, Kindi Backstrom and her current players for this skills camp for all abilities. Camp will be spent working on skills, having fun, meeting new people, and building confidence.

    When: Jan 2-3 | 9-11am

    Ages: 2nd-5th graders

  • Refund Policy

    Refunds and credits will be honored prior to the start of the program. There will be no refund for missed days. $5 surcharge will apply to all refunds.

  • Late Pick-Up

    There will be a fee for late pick-up of your camper after 5:30pm. The fee is $1 per minute per child and this fee is due at the time of late pick-up. Any overdue fees will result in the child(ren) not being accepted into camp until it has been paid.

  • Medications

    If your child needs to receive medication during Schools Out Camp, please complete the Medication Permission Form, available online at MountainRec.org or any Mountain Rec facility. This form must be signed by both a Parent as well as a Person with Prescriptive Authority (Medical Professional). All medicine must be kept in its original container and have a legible label stating the child’s name, directions for dosage, prescription number, name of medication, date filled and physician’s name. All unused medication will be returned to the parent/guardian at the end of each camp day, week or session. Medication must be given to the Camp Director or Lead Counselor at sign in. All medication, with exception of asthma inhalers and epinephrine pens, will be kept by the Camp Medication Administrator or locked in a secure area.

  • Vending Machines | Microwaves | Refrigerators

    Due to new Colorado State Licensing rule this year, children are no longer allowed to get snacks from the vending machines. Please send them with 2 or more healthy snacks each day. Campers that bring money will not be able to use the vending machine. In addition, do not send food that needs the use of a refrigerator or microwave. We are required to stay within our ratios, we do not have enough staffing to be able to warm up campers foods. When we have 30-40 kids per day at camp, we do not have the staffing or time to be able to warm up food for kids. Also, most days we will be eating our lunch outside and again, won’t have time to warm up all of the food before we go.
